About this event

This June 22nd walk begins and ends at the Prospect Park West Entrance (located at the intersection of 20th Street and 9th Avenue).

Join Green-Wood’s leisurely (and lively!) walking group, designed for older adults and those with limited mobility. Together, we’ll take a scenic stroll through the Cemetery, enjoying gentle exercise, breathtaking views, and engaging conversation along the way.

More than just a walk, it’s a chance to connect, share stories, and celebrate life and legacy in a one-of-a-kind setting. Expect good company, meaningful moments, and maybe even a few unexpected tales from the past.

Leading the way is Mary Pat Klein, an acclaimed fiber artist, fitness instructor, and facilitator of Green-Wood’s Grieving and Weaving program. She knows these winding paths like the back of her hand—there’s not a gravestone she hasn’t seen!

Free. Registration required. Please consider a $10 donation to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer more death education programs like this throughout the year.

Before Purchasing Your Ticket, Please Note:

  • Tickets: There is no need to print tickets! Attendees will be checked in by name.
  • Where To Go: Check-in takes place at the Prospect Park West Entrance (Prospect Park West and 20th Street). The tour will begin and end at the Prospect Park West Entrance.
  • Accessibility & Safety: This walking tour follows a route designed for gentle movement over mostly even terrain. However, some areas of the Cemetery include hills, grass, and uneven paths that may be challenging to navigate. The route is not fully ADA-compliant. We strongly recommend wearing suitable footwear.
  • A Little More About Safety & Comfort: Unless there is a medical emergency, it may be difficult to exit quickly during the tour. Restrooms are available at the start and end of the tour, but not along the route. Please consider these limitations before purchasing tickets.
  • Inclement Weather Policy: We monitor weather conditions throughout the day for the best chance of proceeding with the tour, and will not make a final decision until approximately 3 hours before the start of the tour. Cancellations will be announced via Eventbrite email blasts, so check your email and spam folders.
